Meet Mick
Domenic "Mick" Lo Bianco is the Founding Director of Converge Asset Management with over 40 years of infrastructure and asset management experience across ports, transportation, local government and technology sectors.
Formerly General Manager, Asset Management and Spatial Data at the Port of Melbourne for 12 years, Mick led the development of a ‘best in class’ strategic asset management program across a multi-billion dollar portfolio of structural, civil and technology assets. During this time Mick also led the development of the first edition of the Wharf Structures Condition Assessment Manual, which is now under the custodianship of the Australian ports peak industry body, Ports Australia.
Mick was instrumental in the port privatisation process which concluded in 2017 and was retained by the private port operator in the position of Head of Certification for three years. In this role Mick led the design, development and third-party certification of the new port operator business to ISO 55001 (Asset Management), ISO 45001 (OH&S), ISO 9001 (Quality Management) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) under an Integrated Management System, which was unprecedented.
Beyond consulting, Mick is a 5th Dan black belt in Taekwondo and is the co-founding owner and head instructor of Eastern Taekwondo located in Melbourne's leafy eastern suburbs. Mick is a three-time national Poomsae champion who brings his martial arts discipline and focus to every consulting engagement he undertakes.
